The Sunday Post

If you have read my latest blog posts you would have know that I have not blogged at all all week. I had an idea for a post that I currently have which has not been finished yet but hopefully when I publish this then I can finish off. Work has been super busy and I have not had time to blog or come up with any ideas. I usually have a Wednesday off but this week just gone I had a First Aid course to go too in the afternoon so I could not do anything then. I usually like to blog on a Wednesday. It's a nice thing to do during the week and my apologies to you all.

A lot of bloggers at the moment are doing a lot of Christmas and now Winter posts which are great if you want any top tips on ideas to get your loved ones for Christmas this year or how to keep warm during the winter. I think they are great but sometimes you can read too many of them. People may like that but personally once you have read a couple of them it is nice to think of other posts you can talk about. I actually bought a Christmas Jumper from Next on Saturday and I absolutely love it.
Its a lovely green colour and has tinsel and pom poms on it. I cannot wait to wear it.. It was around £30.00/35.00 and Next Christmas Jumpers are around that price range. A couple of months ago I handed my notice in there and the jumper was the first thing I bought and I would have loved to have been able to get 25% discount but however it is still a great buy and it looks so good it is definitely worth the money!

Next Christmas Jumper

It is the perfect Christmas Present or a nice Christmas treat to yourself after spending all your money buying cards and presents for everyone! Although you probably could buy it cheaper if you are the type of person that likes to hit the January Sales. I personally I am not however I did buy some lovely wellies last year in the sales just after Christmas from Joules which was great.

I have recently been loving 1950's pictures again. I have been so much into the sixties which I love and to be honest I still am. I found some amazing old photos of people in the 50's and thought this has to be a post soon about them. This photo was taken outside a cafe in the beautiful city of Paris which unfortunately at the moment has had an unbelievable event that happened last Friday. I wanted to show people this photo because Paris will always be a fabulous city to visit, to live in and for the world to enjoy despite what has happened in the news. #PrayForParis

I love these picture too, need I really say anymore. The picture speaks for itself don't you not think?

A little girl taking a cat for walk.. This is quite amusing as you do not see cats on leads. I love how well dressed she looks too.

This has been a random post but I wanted to share with you my Christmas Jumper and a few vintage pictures from the 50's.  It is a Sunday Post: A nice chilled out read in front of the fire on a November winter's night.

I have another full week of work so I hope I have time to come up with ideas. Keep up to date on my social media and the quickest way to catch up on my posts is my blogger or bloglovin.

A Lifestyle Post: A Trip To Newcastle

Happy weekend to you all, despite the horrific and devastating news that happened in Paris on Friday. My heart goes out to you all. #PrayforParis

On Saturday 15th November I got the train from York to Newcastle to visit my sister for the day. I had not seen her probably since she got back from New York. She'd been away for 6 weeks and then was straight back to university in Newcastle. The train journey was very relaxing and it only takes an hour on the train, I was too busy looking out at the window and totally forgot to listen to my music. I actually wanted to save my battery even though I had charged it the night before. Anyway, time had soon passed and I arrived in Newcastle an hour later. I saw my sister whilst walking over the bridge. I heard her say 'Charlotte have you got your train ticket out?' I said 'Yes don't worry Fi' and headed towards the ticket barriers.

Newcastle is such a lovely city and I love the people. Their accents and the fact that they are so friendly. We went for coffee at Cafe Nero, Fiona had tea and I was drinking a Latte.

After having a long chat we looked at the cinema times and decided to watch a film which my sister had watched on the Friday night and loved it. She also thought I would enjoy it too as the film is set in the 1950's. The film was called Brooklyn, It was about an Irish immigrant who had moved to New York who had to make a difficult choice when her past rears its head.

We had a lovely late lunch at Jamie's Italian. We started off with Garlic Bread to share which was so lovely and was not too strong. I had a Mussel and Squid black ink pasta was delicious. I love seafood and it really is the best. Fiona had a ricotta pizza with spring onions and rocket which she enjoyed too. We talked about a variety of different things, boys, New York and general sister things!

Another vinyl? Yes how could I not resist. We went to a music shop JG Windows and there were lots of vinyls to choose from. There was only one 'A Hard Days Night' by The Beatles and I had to buy it. Priced at £21.99 which is not too bad and was cheaper than a few at HMV,

The Swinging Sixties with #BridgettBardott

  •  She retired as an actress when she was 39 and became a full time animal rights activist.
  •  She never wanted to be seen as a sex symbol, revealing in an interview: “All my life…I was never what I wanted to be, which was frank, honest, and straightforward. I wasn’t scandalous — I didn’t want to be. I wanted to be myself. Only myself.”
  •  An ardent animal activist she once contacted Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin to thank him for his work on behalf of wolves and for banning the sealskin trade.
  • Despite being idolised by the world over, Bardot claims she has never found enduring happiness and is reported to have made several suicide attempts.
  •  She popularised the bikini in her early films such as Manina. The ‘Bardot’ fashion neckline is also coined after her.

Brigitte Anne-Marie Bardot, a name that almost immediately pops into your mind when the term '1960's fashion icon' is mentioned. Brigitte defined the fashion of that era with her trademark. The smoky eyes paired with tousled blonde hair and her killer curves that made her being labelled as the 'ultimate sex kitten'. In fact, her roughed-up bed-head look is an inspiration to the new generation with celebrities like Kate Moss and Blake Lively emulating her sexy attitude and iconic beauty.

“I gave my beauty and my youth to men. I am going to give my wisdom and experience to animals.”
“A photograph can be an instant of life captured for eternity that will never cease looking back at you.”
“Only idiots refuse to change their minds.”
“It is sad to grow old and not ripen.”
“People are forever finding something wrong with you.”

Today's blog post is all about Brigitte Bardot's style from the 60's. I have enjoyed researching into this iconic fashion iconic and even though I did not write a lot of facts about her as I wanted to show her style of clothing, hair and beauty.

My Halloween Treats I October Favourites

Not that long ago I did a current favourite blog post on the vinyl Honeymoon by Lana Del Rey and thought about doing an October Favourites but have not been buying a lot things. Well as it happened I went shopping yesterday when it was Halloween and bought two new vinyls. Both I have wanted for a while.

The first one was Abbey Road by the Beatles which after I bought my Sgt Pepper vinyl I had to buy it. I only know a few songs on there for example Something and Come Together. I have not stopped playing it since I bought it yesterday, I just love everything about it and so pleased I bought it! There was only one in HMV too so it was defintely meant too be.

In this album all you get it is just the vinyl, sometimes you can get pictures instead or the lyrics to the songs but I like how the vinyl has the outside of the apple on one side and on the other side it has the inside.

Of course here is the back..

I absolutely love Abbey Road vinyl and if you have purchased it yourself you will know exactly what I mean! Last but not least is Lioness: Hidden Treasures by Amy Winehouse. Ever since my sister downloaded a few of the tracks onto iTunes I fell in love with it. I saw online it was also on vinyl and I knew it had to be in my collection so of course when I stumbled across it on Saturday after just glancing through the vinyls in HMV I saw it and could not believe it! It was not even under her name in the shop because that was the first thing I did after looking at The Beatles records. I just thought I could not let one of them go, I wanted both and there was only one left of both of them. I paid £35 altogether but it was so worth it and I left HMV feeling a very happy customer!

This vinyl also comes with a little paragraph that Mark Ronson wrote about Amy. Every song that they did together is explained and how she loved all of them. There are also messages from her family too, it is so lovely to read. The layout of the songs on the album is different to many as instead of having one vinyl with 5 songs on one side and 5 on the other. There are two vinyls, with 3 songs on each side. I guess it is a good way of doing it but it is annoying having to get up to change it. Although when I listened to it for the first time, the sound was funny and I knew straight away I need to change the setting on my record player. It is made as an LP (single).

This is a dream album and if you are a vinyl collector like myself you really need this in your collection. It also helps if you are a fan of Amy too! I remember finishing side 1 and thinking 'Wow she is even more talented than I ever thought she was,' How could that possibly be? Well you will soon begin to see once you have listened to the album.

I have loved doing an October Favourites on my new vinyls and I hope you have enjoyed them!
What vinyls have you been loving or songs you have downloaded?
