My Week In Photos

Welcome back guys! It has been over a week since I last blogged. To be fair I have had two posts completed and I chose to wait till this post had been done. I think it was because January is the month of my birthday and last Sunday (24th) I turned 24! Can you believe it? 24 I thought I would feel different but I do not and no at first I thought 'Oh my gosh, I am getting old' which I am but I guess it could be worse and I might aswell enjoy being 24.

I have not done one of these posts in a while but I am going to do a 'My week in Photos' I thought this would be a good post to do and you can get to see what I got up to do besides work. I have also seen other bloggers doing these kind of posts which inspired me to do my own.

I began my week as I usually do beginning going to work and of course before I started this meant one thing. Suits. Suits and Suits. I absolutely love suits and I cannot wait till season 4 is released on Netflix UK.

I always go on my Instagram as the majority of you know how much I love it and I post daily too.
In my latest blog posts from last year I talked about how much my feed has changed and last week I found some amazing pictures of Kate Moss, Leonardo Dicaprio, old fashion cars and lots more. (I will leave a link at the end of my post if you want to check it out) Amazingly enough I reached an unbelievable 1200 followers which is just so unreal and cannot believe that there are so many of you that love my Instagram! As always, thank you ever so much! I love you all and I never in a million years expected it, I just love posting retro pictures.

Here are just a few of the pictures I now have on my Instagram and the two at the top of my post.

On Wednesday 20th January I arranged to go out with my friends for a meal to celebrate my birthday.
It was such a cold night and thankfully I tried to keep warm by wearing tights underneath my black super high wasted jeans from Topshop, my gorgeous leopard print blouse and Zara leather jacket.

That was pretty much my week, I saw family on Thursday and Friday and then waited till Sunday where I spent my birthday at the coast. Whitby is a lovely place!

How was your week been? Feel free to leave comments or contact me on social media!

#JohnLennon - #Imagine #Vinyl

So today It was a happy vinyl day for myself and with it being the first vinyl of 2016 of course I had to buy 'Imagine' by John Lennon. I had previously seen the vinyl in HMV (yes that is why I buy all of my records) in December last year and I could not buy it purely because Christmas was coming up and I was not going to buy anything like that until I got paid in January. It is nearly my birthday and even though I should of waited I did not.

1. I have not been paid yet.
2. I love buying vinyls.
3. I just can't help myself.

I will see I did have enough money to last time till the end of the month so it was absolutely fine.
After being in this week I had narrowed it down to two, Imagine and Rubber Soul which is by The Beatles. I still have not finished collecting them all yet, but when I saw there were two Rubber Soul records and one Imagine I thought 'that is it, I must have Imagine! That was that, my mind was made up and I went away with it.

I only new two songs on the record, I bet you can guess which ones? Imagine of course and Jealous Guy. They are two of my favourite John Lennon songs. I listened to the first side about 4 times, over and over again. That is what I loved about listening to CD's you could follow the words and just keep playing that side over and over until you lost the world to live. Now I do the same with my vinyls,
even when I just play one of my mums old LP's. Before I got my record player I played the same songs all the time on my iPhone, actually I tell a lie, I still do!

It is that kind of vinyl you can play all the time and you will not get bored, I mean how can you not get bored of John Lennon's voice. Gosh he is amazing. Defintely was 100% worth it and I am so pleased to finally have that as part of my vinyl collection. Happy Charlotte!

Please don't forget to check me out on blog lovin, it is probably the best place to catch up with my posts!

Imagine you were #JohnLennon

Imagine..

You had a vintage car.

You were John Lennon.

You had an iMac.

Today's post really is a chatty one. I guess it came about the other day and Its been in the back of my mind for a while but I thought 'its okay, It will go away' and it really has not. To be honest, it did not matter to me because I was loving my 'happy place' and people seemed to be loving it too. Why am I rambling on about nothing? Yes that is probably what your thinking.

I was going to stop using blogger. No I was not going to stop blogging but I was going to get Wordpress, well I actually did. I was in the process of setting my account up and then I thought I'm going to have start all over again. I've put so much effort and time with my posts and I did not want to have to try and re write them again. I just wanted a new design for my blog, when I created 'Lottie's Lott' I was searching on blogger for the perfect blog design, I wish there was better ones but people create there own if they are lucky enough to do it for a living. I managed to find one that I thought was right for my blog and I still love it and always will. I guess I just wanted something a little more 'ooh la la' and it grabs peoples attention.

I'd prefer my blog to be like a proper website name  such as www.lottieslott.co.uk now that would be good. Its a dream that I have and I would love to get there. One day! You never know what could happen I guess, but those sort of things don't seem to happen to me. If you go from just being a YouTuber to a blogger of course you have the money, the time and people to help you design something that people are going to love. People like that have more of an advantage and to people like myself who just started from scratch. I also think that beauty and fashion bloggers have more of an advantage and nowadays there are so many! I have a huge passion for different types of bloggers like vintage, travel, food etc. Do not get me wrong I love fashion and beauty bloggers, you can't beat Zoe Sugg, Tanya Burr and Louise Pentland I believe without those girls blogging in general would not be where it is today.

I will be back soon with a Vintage post which I know you will love!

If you guys follow me on Instagram you will know I post lots of vintage pictures on there and I absolutely love my feed. I do keep changing it sometimes just to spice it up once in a while! I want to thank again the people who like my photos and follow me.

A Tribute to #DavidBowie and #AlanRickman

This week has been absolutely devastating as on Monday we found out David Bowie had died after loosing his 18 months battle with cancer. All of the people who loved Bowie were heartbroken, such an iconic individual music artist was taken away after spending his 69th birthday. Then would you believe it, on Thursday afternoon we found out the actor Alan Rickman who had died today after also loosing his battle with cancer and who was also 69! How strange is that!? I have never none anything like that. Alan was such an amazing actor and lots of people know him from Harry Potter. Its crazy to think that when we watch Harry Potter that Alan Rickman is not with us anymore.

If this has happened now, what is going to happen for the rest of 2016. It is pretty scary to think that two famous people have died this week. 3 days apart from one another.

My goals for the next few months are to buy a David Bowie vinyl and also to buy an Alan Rickman film. Unfortunately I have only see Alan in Harry Potter which I absolutely love and he plays such an amazing character.

This post was not planned of course until I found out about both of their deaths and decided to do one together. I know some people will probably talk about their lives, but I just wanted to share with you a few photos.

I will be back soon with a happier post!

Two Models #EdieSedgeick #KateMoss

Today I thought I'd show you two models who both started their careers in different eras, both having drug problems but Edie and Kate were beautiful. That is what makes them iconic.

To begin with you have Edie Sedgwick who sadly had a troubled life. She moved to New York in 1964 to pursue a modeling career and around this time started to take drugs. Her modelling career never took off and in November 1971 she died at the age of 28.

Her photos are beautiful, she has an iconic face like Twiggy and even the hair cut. She makes a statement with how the camera captures her and the style of clothing that she is wearing. In some photos I believe she looks vulnerable and you can see that in her face. The close up shots of her face definitely show that.

Kate Moss is an English model as was discovered in 1988 at the age of 14 by Sarah Doukas, founder of Storm Model Management at JFK airport in New York City. Moss rose to fame in the early 1990s as part of the heroin chic fashion trend. She is known for her waifish furgure and role in size zero fashion.

Happy New Year Post I 2015 to 2016

I wanted to say a Happy New Year to you all and I hope 2016 is good to you. 2016, its crazy to think that another year has flown by. I mean where are these years going? 2015 flew by so fast to the point where it got half way through the year and thought wow soon it will be Christmas and I honestly felt that I had still so much to prove to myself. I never make New Year resolutions but at the end of the 2015 I decided to actually set some goals for myself/things I would like to accomplish for 2016. Last year I had the challenge to get a new job. I began in January just doing the same thing until it finally accured to me in March that I needed to change my life. Its embarrassing really to think that I actually did not do any job hunting for the first couple of months when looking back I should have done and probably I would not have my parents hassling me about it. I knew I had to do it but I then found a new interest a long side 'looking for a new job' blogging. It was in the middle of February when I created 'Lottie's Lott' and what an amazing thing it was to do. I had been reading people's blogs such as Sprinkle Of Glitter and Zoella and actually loved what they did. Even though my idea was completely different and I did not want to by the same old beauty/fashion blogger. I came up with the idea of Vintage Fashion and Old Hollywood Stars, I thought 'great this is going to be perfect'. It took a few attempts to actually make (what I would call) a good blog post. Thinking about the content and how to make it interesting for people to read. When I thought yes I have it, I became more confident in researching new things and finding about more Old Hollywood Stars that I came across through Instagram. So inside of me just focusing on Marilyn and Audrey, I found out about Lauren Bacall and the Queen of pin ups Bettie Page.

My blogging began better and by this time half way through 2015 I had completely changed my Instagram. Thinking back to what it used to be makes me question myself as to why I thought it was okay to have so many quotes and meaningful things. Quotes, not just any old quotes, ones that really that I thought 'no I have to get rid of them I had about 1000 posts and I started following so many different accounts and people would have tons of amazing photos of Old Hollywood, the fifties era which I absolutely loved. In the end I began to delete all the photos and started posting different Old Hollywood Stars and pictures from the 50s. This is when I noticed a real change and people loved my posts that much they followed me. I still today have so many people who began following me last year. Through blogging I met a lovely girl from York also and that was great. She is a proper vintage lady, she dresses and even does the hairstyles! I met her twice last year and hopefully we can do the same this year. Whilst all of this was going on I was feeling so down in myself about going to work because I really was sick and tired of being there, doing the same old thing and I hated it. There was no opportunity to progress further and no permanent extra hours, I could not do 8 hours anymore.
I was going for interviews at a few retail places and was not getting anyway. Out of the blue this job appeared on the NHS website and I applied but did not hear anything so I thought 'I probably had not got the job'. A week before I was going to go on holiday with the family in July, I received an email from this company and they wanted me to go for an interview on the following week which happened to be the day before I was going away. When that day came all I was really bothered about was making sure I had packed everything. I remember my dad driving me there and when I had my interview there was two people! Oh great, baring in mind I absolutely hated interviews. They asked me lots of different questions for the position of a Medical Receptionist and I thought I had done not bad, they seemed to like what I was saying. It was only 10 hours but it was so much more than I was doing at Next. Something different and I felt pretty good about it when I finished. Now I could relax and look forward to my holiday.

A week later when we had finally arrived back in the freezing cold England. I was able to check my messages and I received an email saying ' I GOT THE JOB' I was sat in the car thinking to myself 'Am I reading this right?!' and so I just so of blurted it out to my parents and sister and could not believe it, that I had got the job. It was so surreal I could not explain, My family was so pleased for me and it was the best news ever after being away! I thought 'YES I have finally done it!' On January 10th this month I would have been there 5 months which is insane to think about it. It really has flown by, well the first 4 weeks flew by to the point where I decided to finally hand in my notice at Next. I could not wait to leave. Sad to say goodbye to my friends but then I would still see them so that was a bonus.

In September last year I had another Instagram clear out but it was not a massive one like before, I was just having a bit of change as I came across the 60's and I fell in love with that era. Yes the fashion icons such as Twiggy and Pattie Boyd who I love and are so popular today. I also am a huge fan of The Beatles as a few of you will probably already know. So this meant today my Instagram is full of Vintage pictures and a few pictures of my Vinyl Collection too.

Christmas came and flew by as it always does, it was great this year! Firstly I was not ill which just made it 20 times even more amazing and I no longer had to work Christmas Eve or Boxing day.
I loved the fact of not getting up at 5am in the morning, it was the best feeling. To top it off I ended up having the week off, because last Monday was a bank holiday!

So 2016 is finally arrived and I made a few goals this year. I want to keep blogging and keep trying to make it better than last year. Next month (February) will be my blog's anniversary which I cannot get my head around how quick it has come. I want to keep loving my job, keep learning and enjoying it. Of course I'd love to work full time. I'll probably may have another job hunt later on through the year as that is what I want to be doing. But at the mean time its the experience that I need so for now I'm quite happy to be at the surgery. I'd also love to meet new people whether they are from the blogging community or just in general. I'd also like to think this is my year so start dating a guy (I really hope so) I'll be 24 this month.

I guess this is the end of this long post but I really wanted to express a tiny bit of 2015 in here.
How did 2015 treat you and what goals do you want to achieve from 2016?

Lottie x
